15th Annual Multicultural Festival

The Farmworker Career Development Program at Manatee Technical Institute is hosting the 15th Annual Multicultural Festival at the Manatee Tech Main Campus on State Road 70 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18.  The festival will feature live music and dance performances, food for sale from many countries, activities for children, and free health screenings for all ages.

The purpose of the festival is to celebrate the cultural diversity in our community, the 49th Anniversary of the Farmworker Career Development Program in Manatee and Sarasota Counties, and to raise money to establish 94.5 LPFM, the first non-profit radio station in Manatee and Sarasota Counties dedicated to educate, inform and represent the Hispanic community in the area.

The Multicultural Festival is open to the public free of charge. Sponsors include Tropicana, Revista Variedades, El Mensaje Latino, La Guia, UnidosNow, and METV.

Special entertainment includes Sonia’s Zumba, Texcalli Dancers, Tango Dancers, Dancers of India, Latin Trilogy Band, Sarasota School of the Arts, and Colombian Dancers.  Children will get to meet the tooth fairy.
