Fire Fighter

Program Content: Successful completion of this program equips students with the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to be a member of the Florida Fire service team as a career fire fighter. Students are qualified and prepared to pass the Florida Fire Fighter licensure examination.

Length of Program: 398 clock hours – approximately 3 months to complete if attending full-time – approximately 7 months if completing part-time

2. Arrange to take the TABE test at one of our four campuses if you do not currently have a college degree.
3. Download these forms: Complete Firefighter Packet.
4.  Complete the forms, call the Fire Academy’s Program Secretary, Mrs. Sharon Zeris at (941) 751-7344 to arrange getting the paperwork to her.

We have both Part-Time and Full-Time classes. Day classes are held Monday through Fridays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Part-time classes are Monday, Wednesday from 6 p.m.- 10 p.m. and all 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturdays, or Tuesday, Thursday from 6 p.m.- 10 p.m.and all 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.Saturdays.  The start dates will depend on which class you are looking to attend and when the previous class ends.
