MTC instructor one of 16 to earn artistic excellence degree | From the Bradenton Herald

BRADENTON

Only 16 people have earned a Florida Degree of Artistic Excellence since 1978.

Manatee Technical College instructor Marina Proskurina is the latest addition. She was given the award by the Florida Professional Photographers during a conference in Orlando.

Proskurina teaches digital design at MTC. Proskurina has received national and international recognition for her work. Her students have won state and national awards.

The Florida Degree of Artistic Excellence is earned through a combination of service and competition, but only through images entered in the Electronic Artistry category. A total of 30 merits are required, with a minimum of 16 earned through competition, according to officials.
