Manatee Technical Institute will begin offering a Patient Care Technician class in Palmetto starting in January.  MTI is now accepting applications to the new program.

The Patient Care Technician program prepares students for employment as advanced cross-trained nurse assistants for both acute and long-term health care settings. Part of the training includes aide level skills in electrocardiograph and phlebotomy and a clinical rotation under the supervision of a duly licensed or certified allied health care or nursing professional.

Adult program completers who wish to continue their postsecondary education may earn advanced standing in the Practical Nurse program at MTI.

The class will meet at the school’s north campus Mondays through Fridays from 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. starting January 22 for approximately six months.  Financial aid and Veteran benefits are available to those who qualify.

Interested students should contact career counselor Kathy Matthews at 941.752.8100 ext. 2127 or matthewk@manateeschools.net.

The North Campus is located at 801 Ninth Street West in Palmetto.
