Romine Elected Chairman

Jay Romine, director of the Florida Law Enforcement Academy at Manatee Technical College, has been elected chairman of the Criminal Justice Training Center Directors Association for the State of Florida.

 

The Law Enforcement Academy at MTC is one of 40 certified criminal justice training centers in the State of Florida.

 

The Training Centers Directors Association is tasked by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to represent all of the centers in matters relating to the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission and all aspects of Basic and Advanced training for future and current law enforcement and correctional officers in the state.

 

The election took place at the February 4 meeting of the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission meetings in Destin.  Romine formerly served as a member of the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission for ten years, as the chair for three years, and as the vice-chair of the Center Directors Association for six months prior to this election.
