MTI students will serve as hair stylists, nail techs and make-up artists

(Bradenton, FL—November 20, 2013)

Cosmetology students from Manatee Technical Institute will participate in the annual Manasota Help Portrait event on December 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  They will be providing hair cuts, make-up and manicures for individuals who come from environments of abuse, abandonment and homelessness for a day of recognition with a ray of hope for the future.

Help Portrait is a movement of photographers who are using their time, equipment and expertise to give back to those who are less fortunate.  Every year, they look for volunteers to serve in many capacities, including make-up artists and hair stylists.

This is the fifth year MTI students have participated in the community service project.  The students all belong to SkillsUSA national career and technical student association.

The Manasota Help Portrait event will be held at the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church,1306 Manatee Avenue in Bradenton.
