National Technical Honor Society

MTC inducted 62 students into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) on April 23.  The NTHS is America’s foremost scholastic honor for excellence in workforce education.  Fewer than two percent of U.S. high school and college students are nominated for membership.

Purposes of NTHS include rewarding scholastic achievement, promoting the ideals of honesty, service, leadership, and skill development, and encouraging the practice of high standards of personal and professional conduct and individual responsibility.

The MTC Chapter of NTHS was organized in 1997 and held its first induction ceremony in the spring of 1998.  This was the first school-year MTC held two ceremonies.  MTC inducted 59 students in December 2018 for a total of 121 for the school year.

National Adult Education Honor Society

MTC inducted 21 students into the National Adult Education Honor Society (NAEHS) on April 22.  This was the 20th induction ceremony for the MTC Lee Carter Brown Chapter of the NAEHS.

Included in the mission of the NAEHS is to provide meaningful recognition to deserving adult education students and to improve student employment opportunities.  Eligibility for membership is based on attendance, cooperative attitude, and work ethic.
