Program Content:

EMT is an instructional program that prepares students for employment as emergency medical technicians (Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics) to function at the basic pre-hospital emergency medical technician level and treat various
medical/trauma conditions using appropriate equipment and materials. The program is a steppingstone to Paramedic/Advanced Life Support (ALS).

Industry Certification:
Florida Department of Health National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. Certified in BLS.

CTSO
SkillsUSA and/or HOSA are the approved co-curricular career and technical student organizations which provide activities for students as an integral part of the instruction by providing leadership training and reinforcing specific career and technical skills. 

Articulation:
This program is an Applied Technology Diploma (ATD) program that is part of a technical degree program, is less than 60 credit hours, and leads to employment in a  specific occupation. An ATD program may consist of either technical credit or college credit. A public school district may offer an ATD program only as clock hour credit, with college credit awarded to a student upon articulation to a state college
