Program Description

This course provides knowledge and skills in venous and capillary specimen collection, handling of specimens to OSHA regulations, and performing routine diagnostic hematology tests. At the completion of the course, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Phlebotomy Technician Certification.

 Online course materials will be provided to you in class. There are no hardcopy books that you need to purchase.

You will need to wear black scrubs (top and bottom) to class.

Pre-requisites

Must be 18 years or older. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Immunizations-documentation to be provided by students. Please bring a copy of your ID, high school diploma, and Immunization records to the first day of class.

Immunization needed:

MMR (Measles/Mumps/Rubella)
Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within last 10 yrs
Tuberculosis (Current/within 12months)
Varicella (Chicken Pox)

Class Days:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Length: 75 hours or approximately 1 month.
