Crosthwait donates $8,000 to MTC Marine Technology program

(Bradenton, FL—December 19, 2018) The Crosthwait Memorial Fishing Tournament donated $8,000 to the Marine Service Technology program at Manatee Technical College earlier this month.  The money was raised through the 35th Annual Crosthwait Memorial Fishing Tournament presented by Yellowfin; it is the largest amateur fishing competition on the West Coast of Florida.  According to Matt Elliott, chairman of the Crosthwait foundation, the tournament was started in 1983 as a way to honor the memory of philanthropist and angler Col. Sam Crosthwait, a former Bradenton Yacht Club Commodore.  The donation will be disbursed through the MTC Foundation.
