From MTC to Homeland Security

MTC Grad Spotlight: From MTC to Homeland Security…
Michael Buckley graduated from Manatee Technical College Law Enforcement Academy in 2009. He is now director of training for SpecOps Group, a contractor for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. When he is not flying somewhere in the world on assignment, he calls Bradenton home. The MTC graduate and class president served on the United Nations International Search and Rescue Advisory Group U.S. Team in 2012. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves. He also served as a Federal drug recognition expert. Buckley and his colleagues (engineering director Juan Melendez, right) were at the MTC East Campus on Friday 8/24 to demonstrate his company’s latest search and rescue technology to a small group of visitors from the Taiwanese government and private sector.
