MANATEE COUNTY —
Manatee Technical College will offer a Basic Computer class at the North Campus in Palmetto and Basic Marine Mechanics at the Main Campus on State Road 70. Both of these non-credit classes start on April 6.
Computer students will learn how to navigate the Internet (including how to make purchases online), send emails and include attachments, and gain a better understanding of basic Microsoft Word and Windows 7. Instructor William Beeler has a Bachelor’s degree in computer/information systems and extensive knowledge of hardware and Microsoft software. The cost is $90.
MTC Marine Service Technology instructors Kelly Ewing and Bret Watson will co-teach the outboard engine class. Together they have over 30 years in the marine service and boating industries. They will cover how to perform a basic tune-up, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. Students are encouraged to bring their boats/engines. The cost is $150. Class size is limited.
The Basic Computer Class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. for a total of nine sessions at MTC’s North Campus, 801 Ninth St. W., Palmetto. Marine Mechanics will meet for a total of 10 classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at MTC’s Main Campus.
