Tropicana Adelante Team and MTC Farmworker Program at Myakka Head Start 

 

(Bradenton, FL—October 21, 2016)   The Farmworker Career Development Program of Manatee Technical College and the Adelante Team of Tropicana Products, Inc., will be giving school supplies to migrant children at the East Coast Migrant Head Start School at Falkner Farms on Sunday, October 30, at 10:00 a.m.

The school supplies are being donated by Tropicana.  The event is open to all of the farmworker families of the six migrant camps at Falkner Farms.  Tropicana employees have been long-time supporters of the MTC Farmworker Program.

The MTC Farmworker Career Development Program serves farmworkers and their families in Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties.    The programprovides educational and supportive services to chronically unemployed and underemployed farmworkers to obtain the career-related education needed to prepare them to enter or advance in the workforce and achieve economic stability.

Sponsorship opportunities are available.  If any business or private donor would like to donate money for the Farmworker Emergency Fund, please contact the Farmworker Career Development Program for more information at 941-751-7947.  This fund is used to support farmworker families in crisis situations to provide them with food, shelter, and health services.
