MTC auto collision students paint STEAM bus for ELC

(Bradenton, FL—September 18, 2019) Auto Collision Technology students at Manatee Technical College did some custom painting on the new STEAM bus for the Manatee Early Learning Coalition.  The students painted the ceiling of the bus a sky blue and added some clouds and gears as artwork to align with the Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math (STEAM) theme.

“Everyone at ELC would like to thank the MTC students so much for the amazing job they did on our new STEAM bus,” said Paul Sharff, CEO of the Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County.  “They are clearly a very talented group, and we can’t wait to see the bus hit the road and help us expand our programs that help so many local children.”

The bus is part of an ELC community outreach program that will allow them to reach more young learners in Manatee County.

Before the students painted, they removed all the seats, took measurements, and came up with ideas.  According to MTC instructor Shane Baxley, when the project is completed, the ELC will fill the bus with fun learning tools.

“We look forward to seeing it complete,” said Baxley, “with lots of happy kiddos getting to take advantage of this free resource.”
