MTC to dedicate East Campus Auditorium to Dr. Priscilla Haflich

(Bradenton, FL—June 7, 2018)   Manatee Technical College will honor the memory of Dr. Priscilla Haflich (1934-2016) by naming the East Campus Auditorium after her.  The dedication of the Dr. Priscilla Haflich Auditorium will take place at 5:30 p.m. on June 14, 2018.

Dr. Haflich was the assistant director at the MTC East Campus from the day the campus opened in 2001 until she died unexpectedly in 2016.  She began her 31-year career at MTC in 1984.

“Dr. Haflich had a positive impact on this school, our staff, the local community and the thousands and thousands of students she interacted with over the years,” said Doug Wagner, executive director of Adult, Career and Technical Education for the School District of Manatee County.

During her tenure at MTC, Haflich was instrumental in the creation of many health occupation programs to meet local demand for highly qualified healthcare employees.  She also worked with funders to create scholarships for students and helped thousands of students find financial aid.

She was active in the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Auxiliary, the Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch, and Zonta International.

Former students, graduates, business partners, civic leaders, colleagues, and friends are welcome to attend.  Her family will be part of the dedication ceremony.
