MTC instructor earns rare degree

(Bradenton, FL—September 13, 2016)  Manatee Technical College instructor Marina Proskurina was conferred the Florida Degree of Artistic Excellence by the Florida Professional Photographers in Orlando on September 12, 2016.  She is one of only 16 in the state to earn the degree since its inception in 1978.

Proskurina teaches Digital Design at MTC.  Proskurina has received national and international recognition for her work.  Her students have won state and national awards.

The Florida Degree of Artistic Excellence (FDAE) is earned through a combination of service and competition, but only through images entered in the Electronic Artistry category.  A total of 30 merits are required, with a minimum of 16 earned through competition (scoring 80 or higher).
