MTC law enforcement students awarded DiCicco scholarships

(Bradenton, FL—September 23, 2019) The Dan DiCicco Memorial Scholarship Foundation presented scholarship awards at the Manatee Technical College East Campus last week to three students in MTC’s Law Enforcement Academy.  Jugo Garcia was the first-place honoree.   Jesse Combs and Keith Whitfield tied for second place.

The foundation provides scholarships to students pursuing careers in law enforcement.  Dan DiCicco was a cancer survivor and Deputy Sheriff in Pinellas County.  His family and friends established the scholarship fund in his memory.

“We received many more applications than we had funds for,” said Cheryl DiCicco, Dan’s mother.  She and her husband Paul wish they could help more students.  The foundation is a nonprofit organization that runs on donations from the community.

DiCicco had graduated from the MTC Academy in 2007.
