MTC licensure exam pass rates exceed state and nation

(Bradenton, FL—August 5, 2019) The practical nursing program of Manatee Technical College (MTC) has been ranked #8 out of 103 programs in Florida by and #13 out of 160 by

MTC pass rates on the NCLEX-PN have exceeded state and national rates for the past two years.  NCLEX-PN is the national exam to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN) anywhere in the United States.

Both publishers gathered their data from the US Department of Education, State Boards of Nursing, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing to compile their lists.

The NCLEX pass rates for LPN program graduates in the 2018 calendar year were 86.36% for Manatee Technical College, 85.91% for the US, and 75.56% for Florida.  In 2017, Florida was at 75.11%, the US at 83.85%, and MTC had a pass rate of 88.31%. used the NCLEX pass rate and average net price to calculate its list of best-value nursing schools in Florida.  Their ranking formula gives a 70% weight to the NCLEX pass rate and 30% weight to net price.

The ranking methodology used was based on three factors: NCLEX-PN first-time pass rates and number of test takers, academic quality and affordability, and editorial team and other publisher ratings.

Nursing Explorer gathered over 3,000 nursing schools’ data and ranked 1,721 schools across 45 states.

Nursing Process ranked the North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton Metro Area as number five of the six best metro areas in Florida to work as an LPN.  They quoted the US Bureau of Labor Statistics for current employment at 2,170 with an average annual salary of $42,770.
