The Automotive Service Technology and Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing programs at Manatee Technical College will host MTC’s Fourth Annual Car and Bike Show on Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The family-friendly event will feature a car, bike and truck show, vendors, food, door prizes, and a silent auction. Face-painting and “tattoos” will be available for children of all ages.
The proceeds from the event will help send MTC’s automotive students to SkillsUSA events at the State and National SkillsUSA Championships. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.
Sponsors for the event include Bill Lee Race Cars, Gettel Automotive Family of Dealerships, Sunset Automotive Group, The Parts House, Safelite Auto Glass, Tint Worx, MacAllister’s Grill & Tavern, Snap-On, Sarasota Ford, Toyota of Lakewood, LKQ, Miller’s Snack Shack, Anthem Equipment, and Lance’s Cruzin’ to the Hop Car Shows.
Admission is free to the public. Hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and soft drinks will be available for purchase. The show will include music by DJ Lance, door prizes, and a silent auction for a custom tailgate bench.
Anyone may enter a car, truck or motorcycle into the contest for a $20 cash donation payable the day of the event. All years, makes and models are welcome to participate. The show will offer hand crafted trophies for the top cars and bikes entered in the show. Sponsorships are available for $100 to $200.
