Renowned stylist inspires students

Renowned hair stylist/barber Ben De Cordova shared his expertise with over 40 cosmetology and barber students at Manatee Technical College this week.  Formerly from Beverly Hills, California, the now Tampa-based De Cordova was a celebrity stylist and designer for television and film stars, top models and Miss America contestants.  De Cordova was passionate about his craft as he was sharing from his 50 years of experience, not only as a stylist but also as an inventor.  Students were enthralled with De Cordova as he demonstrated the ambidextrous technique he created for cutting hair.  He is also the creator of an art form called “Hair Floristry” that uses human hair to create flowers as ornaments.  De Cordova challenged the students to practice technique and tap into their own creativity.
